Episode 9 - All Good PecApple Pies

March is upon us and Spring is almost here, but not quite yet. My garden is still asleep. I aspire to being a year round gardener, but haven’t gotten there yet. Give me time. So in this episode we cook up something sweet and easy with produce from the North Carolina Farmers Market. Winter is often viewed as a time when you can’t get anything fresh but it is actually a bountiful time when it comes to squash, greens, and root veggies! But we are departing from savory for a moment.

This was the 2nd time doing Back to the Garden live on instagram, and I made some mistakes but had fun doing it. I like to think we made some memories together too. Our earth elements here are local beauties: Apples from just up the road in Henderson, and Pecans from Grantham. If you’ve been craving some warming, comforting spices and a little low effort dessert to get you through the rest of our coldest season, these Mini PecApple Pies are for you. We also have a surprise visit from a good friend, and bonus recipe while the PecApple Pies bake! Happy Baking… and Shaking! ;)
