Episode 9 - The Hanged Man
Hey witches, buckle up: March’s card is The Hanged Man. The Hanged Man appears when it’s time to pause. The universe can signal to us when these cosmic pauses are coming, but only those who are attuned to their inner voice will be able to pick up the signs. This card is linked to our song If I’d Known I Loved Her, a longing message to our past self to wake up to love and act before it’s too late. When this card comes up in a reading we ask: What could we gain from seeing our struggles from a new perspective? What would happen if we completely let go of our plans and expectations and trusted that we do not always know best? How can we take our time, listen, and learn in this moment? Sometimes the only thing to do is nothing, just pause peacefully and consider what more there is to discover.
The Daily Card Pull
This month I want to share with you one of the easiest ways to get to know your tarot deck. Daily card pulls. Try to set aside 5 minutes of your day for self-reflection, the cards are an amazing tool with which to do so. I recommend pulling out the Major Arcana so you can better familiarize yourself with their meanings and symbols and then the practice is as simple as holding the cards in your hand each day with an intention in your mind. Split the deck in half or shuffle it if you’re so inclined, and then flip the card on top. Have a consistent flip direction so you can know the cards orientation is accurate. Then focus on the card. Look up the meaning if you need to, no shame in that, you can always be a student of the symbols and layered meanings in Tarot, and retroactively apply the energy of the card to your intention. This is where your reading will only be as deep as your practice, so if you take the time to understand your own inner dimensions and are willing to be honest with yourself, this daily practice can act as a reminder to honor your higher-self and be in flow with the universe!
