Episode 5 - The Hermit
Hello witchy ones. Welcome back, we are just in time to take heart together through lonely days. Winter is a season of stillness and quiet, but what happens when we let the quiet stillness reflect in our spiritual seeking? The Hermit card encourages us to journey away from society and into our own conscious awareness, giving ourselves the solitude necessary to see our inner light and be guided by it. While The Hermit calls us away from the distractions of daily life in an earnest effort to better hear the voice within and follow our intuition, there is a risk in following his path. Secluding ourselves can result in feeling separate, misunderstood and ultimately depressed or meaningless. But there is renewable faith in asking: Why are we here? Does anything even matter? Because the answer “YES!” is in the smallest next step, of breathing in and out. In taking in the sky. In the way a song makes us feel something. We’ve got to find our reason, we’ve got to come back to life.
The Me Time Spread is made for this moment. When you’re reading your own cards, every spread is kind of a “me time” spread, and while we are all quarantined, more “me time” might feel borderline masochistic. But this is where intention comes in! Consider this your quality time with your body, mind, and spirit. This isn’t about work, relationships, or travel. It’s not a spread you do with the tv on in the background or that you zip through while your leftovers are in the microwave. Time is the key word, and the cards won’t work their magic if you don’t let them. This spread answers only: what can I give myself in this moment? How can I better love myself through the coming months? Of what am I capable? It’s uncomplicated. It’s honest. It’s like a salt scrub for the soul. Give your spirit a spa day, give yourself some Me Time.
